Striping Tape Frenzy

6 Aug

I felt like I hadn’t done a proper striping tape mani for ages and hence these nails were born!  It literally took AGES to place the tape for these, and ages to take it off…so long that the polish got a little tacky and started pulling a bit with the tape removal so they’re not as neat as I would have liked.  I also gave up by the time I got to my pinkie and just whipped out the dotting tool!!

Scifi Nails

14 Mar

I love SciFi a lot!  I read it, I watch it and now I paint it on my nails! I really didn’t know what to call this look to be honest, but I think it looks futuristic and reminds me of some of my favourite shows Stargate SG1 and Farscape. All I know is I love them! I’ve had them on for a week which is practically unheard of!  I will cry when I take them off (kidding….sorta!).

Nautical Stripes

28 Feb

I’ve really been lacking inspiration recently, apart from the holiday January and February have been pretty tough months and motivation has been at an all time low. Saying all that though, these nails are almost enough to bring me out of my slump, I’m really happy with them. They were a bit fiddly, striping tape and small lines are so time consuming!

12 Days of Christmas – Candy Canes

11 Dec

I bet this design looks familiar eh!?  Rocking the stripes from my Elves post in candy cane colours this time!!  I didn’t think I’d like this design when I first did it as red and white usually look a bit garish and bright and I thought it might look a little tacky, however I totally love it!!

Polishes used:

  • w7 – White
  • Rimmel – Red

12 Days of Christmas – Christmas Tree/Lights

3 Dec

Fallen a little behind with this challenge due to a manic weekend, however I’m hopeful that I should be able to get back on track this week!!

This day of the challenge couldn’t have come at a more perfect time as I put up my Christmas Tree and decorations last night and absolutely had to pay tribute to that on my nails!!  It also gave me a chance to use more of my hundreds and hundreds of coloured stars!!  These nails were so simple to do, I taped off the Christmas Tree shape with striping tape and that was about the most complicated part!! The rest is just a squiggly line with a nail pen and a few stars stuck on along the way using top coat.  They hardly took any time at all, and I’m super happy with the finished results – cute!

Polishes used:

  • Barry M – Lychee
  • Barry M – Emerald Green
  • Barry M – Black Nail Pen

Triangular

22 Nov

For some reason I’ve been a bit obsessed about doing triangular nail art recently…odd, I know!!  This mani took ages to do, hundreds (slight exaggeration) of pieces of striping tape were sacrificed in the making of these nails!! I totally love the result though, and the Christmas colours!

Polishes used

  • Barry M – Gold Foil
  • No7 – Temptress
