Spiralling

20 Sep

Hello! I’m back! My nail polishes still don’t have a home but I couldn’t wait any longer to get them out and start blogging again!

As it’s been about a month since I last did anything more complicated than put a single colour on my nails I decided to ease myself back into the world of nail art with a bit of stamping!

The good thing about having moved is that you get a fresh start and that means I’m making an effort to use some of the polishes that don’t usually make much of an appearance on here but definitely should! It’s like falling in love with my hobby all over again!

I’m looking forward to catching up on all of your blogs over the next few days!

Polishes used:

  • MoYou – Black
  • Barry M – Emerald Green
  • Sinful Colours – Call You Later
  • China Glaze – Smoke and Ashes

Zebra or Tiger?

13 Aug

So when I’d finish these nails I couldn’t figure out whether they were zebra print or tiger print, I mean aren’t they just the same!? Don’t the stripes on a zebra kinda look the same as those on a tiger? Zebra….tiger….who knows! Yeah, my brain is having a “weird place” day!

Anyway…..I don’t use this base coat anywhere near often enough! I love the Nails Inc Sprinkles polishes and this one is definitely my favourite with the bright blue and purple/pink/gold glitters. I was tempted just to leave my nails plain, but the blog…y’know! Something about them just screamed for gold stamps over the top, so there you go!

Pastel Galaxy Nails

28 May

Another post with my fabulous new Nails Inc polishes!! I can’t get enough of using these, seriously!  I started with a base coat of Holland Park Gardens and then used the dry brush technique with my other two colours to create my pastel base coat.  I almost left it at that, but the little voice in my head thought it’d look even better if I added some white stars to it so I cracked out one of my untried MoYou plates (Pro Plate Collection 05) for the job!

I’m totally going to have to try more pastel/alternative coloured galaxy nails now, I really love these!

  • Nails Inc – Wardour Street
  • Nails Inc – Little George Street
  • Nails Inc – Holland Park Gardens
  • Sinful Colours – Snow Me White

Purple Princess

16 Apr

My first adventure with my new stamping plates…..fairly simple! I bought a new stamper and scraper from MoYou as well and it’s taking me a little bit of time to get used to them, the stamper is much squishier than my Konad one and squishes the patterns if you press down too hard so I definitely need more practice with these!

Stamping Plate Haul

10 Apr

I’ve been lacking a good selection of stamping plates for a while now, and bored with my current collection I recently went on a little shopping spree at MoYou.  Look at all my new pretties!

Here’s what I ordered:

  • Sailor Collection – 06 XL Images
  • Pro Plate Collection – 05
  • Pro Plate Collection – 05 XL Images
  • Pro Plate Collection – 10
  • Sci Fi Plate Collection – 05 XL Images
  • Princess Plate Collection – 12 XL Images

I also bought a new stamper and scraper as mine are a bit worse for wear these days as a result of me not cleaning them properly!

I can’t wait to use this and you can guarantee that there’ll be a few posts coming up in the next few weeks with these patterns!

Apple Stamps

7 Apr

I’ve fallen in love with one of the new polishes I’ve recently bought – Sew Psyched by Essie.  It’s such a gorgeous colour, perfect for Spring.  I wanted to do something really simple with it so just went for a quick stamped look using a gold and a couple of my Konad plate.  I really like the apples, so cute!

Polishes used:

  • Essie – Sew Psyched
  • Nails Inc – Lanesborough Place

Fishnet Flowers

10 Mar

Another experiment in stamping!! This time I just used one stamp, learning from my previous lesson and randomly stamped it part-way across each nail.  I then dotted a flower over the edge of the stamp and pulled it into the middle with a toothpick for a bit more definition.  I quite liked the design of these ones but not the colour!  I think the yellow is a bit too insipid for my skin tone!

Polishes used:

  • Revlon – Buttercup
  • China Glaze – Custom Kicks
  • Barry M – Plum
  • Nails Inc – Lanesborough Place
