Pastel Galaxy Nails

28 May

Another post with my fabulous new Nails Inc polishes!! I can’t get enough of using these, seriously!  I started with a base coat of Holland Park Gardens and then used the dry brush technique with my other two colours to create my pastel base coat.  I almost left it at that, but the little voice in my head thought it’d look even better if I added some white stars to it so I cracked out one of my untried MoYou plates (Pro Plate Collection 05) for the job!

I’m totally going to have to try more pastel/alternative coloured galaxy nails now, I really love these!

Spring Watermarble

21 May

I’m attempting to use as many of the polishes from my recent Nails Inc Haul as possible and watermarbling is always a good way to do this.  I had a bit of time on my hands recently and felt brave enough to try this technique again!!  I’m actually pretty pleased with the result, it’s one of my better water marbles although I’m still absolutely useless at trying to get all nails to look the same!

What do you think?  I have a feeling that these colours are going to get a lot of play over Spring and Summer!

Nails Inc Nail Polish Haul

14 May

I’m a sucker for offers which seem too good to be true! Nails Inc always catch me out and I ended up splurging recently on 16 new nail polishes.  I am now the proud owner of the Heatwave Collection and the Soft Focus collection, all of which have some absolutely stunning colours I can’t wait to use.  They’ve both got quite a few pastel and neutral shades in them which I don’t own a lot of so fill in a few gaps in my collection quite nicely.

Here’s what I ended up with:

Heatwave Collection:

Left to Right: Seymour Walk, Pembridge Gardens, Marylebone Road, Bruton Place, Brighton, Waldorf Street, Sloane Avenue and Notting Hill Carnival

Soft Focus Collection:

Left to Right: Fitzroy Road, Chelsea Green, St Catherine’s Dock, Holland Park Gardens, Holland Park Avenue, Highbury, Little George Street and Park West

And here’s a piccy of my new loves all together:

Gold & Black Waterfalls

7 May

Man I love these nails!!  These are more of an attempt to get better at detail work with brushes and I have to say I’m super happy with the results.  I started with a nudeish base and then used a thin striping brush to paint on the gold and black ‘waterfall’ stripes.  For my accent nail I taped off a triangle which I painted black and when that had dried used a small detail brush to outline the rest of my nail in black as well.

This barely took my anytime at all and I always thing the ‘waterfall’ look is really striking when you use the right colours, it definitely looks like it takes more time than it does!

  • Barry M – Lychee
  • Nails Inc – Lanesboriugh Place
  • MoYou – Black
